Refrigerant R12

R-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane) is a colorless, non-flammable chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) gas commonly known by the brand name Freon, which was widely used in automotive air conditioning, home refrigerators, and chillers. Due to its high ozone depletion potential, its production was banned in 1995/1996 under the Montreal Protocol, though it can still be used through recycling.
