Refrigerant R12

R12 (dichlorodifluoromethane), commonly known as Freon-12, is a phased-out chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) refrigerant widely used from the 1930s to 1994 in automotive air conditioning, refrigerators, and freezers. Due to its high ozone depletion potential, it was banned in the U.S. in 1995.
