*True Drop-In Replacement for R12 in commercial refrigeration applications

*No Oil Changes

*No System Changes Required

*Made in the USA

The only refrigerant we use for all R12 commercial refrigeration  applications!

The refrigerant does not require design modifications or component changes.

Clearly label the system to show it contains R409a.

A equipment label is provided.

1) Ensure the right equipment is available (e.g., recovery unit and cylinders, container for recovered lubricant, vacuum pump, weighing scales, replacement drier, etc.)

2) Record baseline data to establish the normal operating conditions for the equipment

3) Check the manufacturer’s specifications for the unit to find the recommended R12 charge in order to determine the amount of R409a to add.

4) Replace the filter/drier if moisture is suspected in the system. This is not necessary on a sealed system.

5) Having evacuated the system, liquid charge the unit with R409a up to 90% of the original charge amount of R12 and then compare to baseline data.

6) Switch on the unit and compare the baseline data, monitor sight glasses, suction line pressure and temperature, and discharge temperature; add additional R409a up to the recommended R12 system charge amount as needed.

7) Check system thoroughly for leaks; and repair as needed.

8) Clearly label the system to show it contains R409a.

****You will receive a label with the refrigerant.

Switch on the unit and compare the baseline data, monitor sight glasses, suction line pressure and temperature, and discharge temperature; add additional R409a up to the recommended R12a system charge amount as needed.

A retrofit blend for R-12 refrigeration systems.

The pressure and system capacity match R-12 when the blend is running in a 10°F to 20°F evaporator, and there is typically 13°F temperature glide in the evaporator.

Applications: direct expansion refrigeration and air conditioning systems designed for R-12 or R-500; good success in any size system, minor adjustment of controls needed.

Discharge pressure and temperature increases compared to R-12, which may be a problem in very hot ambient conditions.

Capacity holds well into lower application temperatures (-30°F).

R-409A mixes well with mineral oil down to 0°F.

As a result it may not be necessary to change oil in systems which do not run colder than 0°F in the evaporator (below 0°F alkylbenzene should replace some mineral oil).
