Refrigerant R450a

R450A is primarily used as a low-GWP replacement for R134a in medium- to high-temperature refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration: R450A is widely used in supermarkets, display freezers, refrigerated trucks, beverage coolers, cold storage facilities, and food processing plants. Its stable chemical properties and compatibility with common materials like copper, aluminum, and steel make it suitable for retrofitting existing R134a systems while maintaining efficiency and reliability.
Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps: R450A can be applied in residential split-type air conditioners, commercial central air conditioning systems, multi-split systems, and heat pumps. It provides similar performance to R134a with slightly higher energy efficiency under medium-temperature conditions.
Industrial Process Cooling: The refrigerant is used in industrial process refrigeration, including chemical and beverage industries, as well as in water chillers, screw, scroll, centrifugal, and reciprocating chillers.
Vending Machines and Beverage Dispensers: R450A is suitable for smaller-scale cooling applications such as vending machines and beverage dispensers, offering a safer, non-flammable alternative to higher-GWP refrigerants.
